Bagan extend lead atop the league table! Douglas to join Mohun Bagan!

Mohun Bagan today met Chirag Utd Sports Club in the Salt Lake Stadium. It was more of a one sided match with Bagan having the upper hand and the score line says it all, 3-0.
Today Bagan midfield seemed a much better unit today compared to the other matches and the team played a much more composed game. Shilton was trusted with the goal keeping gloves and leaving out one or two tense moments, he did not face any tough challenges. Once he was beaten when he charged a Chirag striker and grasped air as the striker moving clear off him sent in a lob into goal but Odafe, the tall defender did his best to pull out a goal line save with a header ensuring a good day at the office for Mohun Bagan.
Bagan got their first goal through a 24th minute strike from Barreto. A Lalkamal corner was fisted by the Goalie only to find Odafe whose towering figure went up and headed a ball to Barreto who headed it home.
The score was doubled in the 34th minute with Barreto providing a touch to the ball, sent in by Venkatesh, to deceive the Chirag goalie as the ball found it way into the net.
The 3rd goal came in the 2nd Half from a counter attack. Lalakamal surged forward and forwarded the ball to and unchallanged Lalam, who pushed a well executed right footer to the left of the advancing keeper.
Sewram Gobin, the Mauritius born player of Indian origin, made his debut today for Mohun Bagan as he came in as a substitute. He made two penetrating runs but failed to deliver the final pass to the Ishfaq, who himself came in as a substitution.
Bagan have scored 28 goals from just 9 matches with an average of 3.1 goals per match. Barreto is till now the leading scorer in the League.
Team:Shilton, Habibur, James, Siddique, Odafe, Lalkamal, Venkatesh(Rahul Kumar), Anit(Gobin), Dharamjit(Ishfaq), Barreto, Lalampuia
